In November 2021, Shanti and Tom were in the Himalayas. The mountain guide Laxman introduced them to his home village far away from civilization. The nearest school is a day’s walk away and the nearest medical care point is three days away. Laxman asked for support for a school and infirmary in his home village.
A few weeks after his return, the Sherpa died, leaving behind two children and his wife.
After consultation with the members, it was decided to change the statutes and start the project in the Himalayas. The school and infirmary are financed by Project SHANTI. In addition, children are directly supported with school supplies.
